In our most recent update we moved in “Recurring Expenses”, into your go-to invoicing software Zoho Invoice and your ever-so reliable accounting
software Zoho Books. With this addition, you can save yourself from the
hassle of recording recurring expenses over and over again. Read on as
we give you a heads up on this useful feature.
Every business
would incur basic recurring expenses on a monthly basis like expenses on
rentals, commuting charges, office maintenance charges, your Zoho Invoice and Zoho Books subscriptions, etc. This is going to be a whiff of fresh air for those of you who have been recording these periodical expenses.
Simply set up a recurring expense and the expense will automatically be
created after the specified period of time. The period of time could be
days, weeks, month or even years. In addition to this, while setting up
the expense you can categorize the type of expenses; select if the
expense is to be incurred forever or if it would end after a specific
date; mark it as billable; if marked billable you can even select the
customer who is to be associated with the expense.
You can skim through our help section for more information on working with recurring expenses.
We
are going to sign off and let you try this feature. But we won’t be
away for too long. We will be back soon with a very interesting addition
to talk about. Until then, enjoy accounting and invoicing with Zoho.
I second @Belle. "Why is it that the New Recurring Expense window featured above allows for flexible currency management, whereas my actual Zoho Books software only uses my base currency without allowing changes." Is there a way around it?

Any reason Zoho INvoice and /Zoho Books are co-existing?

@xxxxxxx, Please could you elaborate on your request.
hi Zoho!
we have a number of home rentals that we send via snail mail every month.
is there a way to set them up now where they are sent out automatically, to arrive at the first of the month?
thanks! (if not, please please make that an option!)
This is a great help guys, thank you! I'd actually requested this feature only a month or so ago, didn't expect to see it so quickly but undoubtedly others had requested it too. Many thanks, it will be a real time saver!
@electrobato: The option to change the base currency is available under Settings ---> Currency Settings. However, if you have recorded any transactions, then you will need to delete all those transactions before you change the base currency.@justphp: When a recurring expense is modified, the changes are reflected only on the new expenses generated from that point onwards. This is only to ensure that the exchange rate, or other information entered for the expenses generated earlier aren't overwritten. As for the option to edit the exchange rate, yes you can edit the expense and change the exchange rate at any time.
I still don't have this update (in paid edition)...is it rolling out?
I have a dream. An Indian company launch a feature initially for Indians only. Like Google did sometimes.
Can you do that Shridhar?:)
This is good but I have some expenses in USD.
Your system allows me to add an exchange rate when I create a recurring expense but if the expense is per month or per year and ongoing then this means I would still have to login every month and alter the exchange rate, but then if I do this the previous month / year becomes incorrect, therefore this feature is pretty useless for any currency other than my base currency and I would have to create an expense every month or year anyway.
Is it possible to change default currency in zoho invoice? How do I do this?
