Last year, we launched TransMail, a transactional email service from Zoho. Through the pandemic, we helped businesses all around the world keep in touch with their customers. It helped businesses communicate crucial information to their customers through transactional emails. Our user base grew, we got tons of great feedback, and we have since been working on adding features that make the platform better for you.
As we've grown from an internal service used mainly by other Zoho products to an up-and-coming competitor in the transactional email market, we've decided to start this next phase of expansion with a new name that we feel reflects the spirit of our product. Don't get us wrong: we loved the name TransMail! But we wanted to pick something less dry and technical and more aspirational and forward-looking.
That's how we decided on our new name: ZeptoMail!
For those of you who don't know, a zeptosecond is the shortest unit of time ever measured by science. It refers to a trillionth of a billionth of a second or .00000000000000000001 seconds. It's as close as science has gotten to quantifying something that's instantaneous.
Although zeptosecond delivery speeds are a scientific impossibility (so far!), we're dedicated to delivering your transactional emails as quickly as current technology allows. In addition to ensuring reliable delivery of your transactional emails, getting those emails quickly to the recipient's inbox is the key to our service. This new name is our commitment to providing an exceptional email service to all of our users.
What's different about ZeptoMail?
Nothing. Only the name of the service is changing. There will be no delivery interruptions for our existing users, and they will not need to make any changes in their current configurations. The new name will only be reflected in new configurations. In the next few days, we will be updating the new name—ZeptoMail—on the product interface and across our website. The pricing of the service, how you use it, and the features that you've been enjoying will remain unchanged.

Hi Michael. ZeptoMail is a separate product and is not linked with Zoho Mail. To get your Zoho Mail issue resolved, please write to us at support(at)zohomail(dot)com with details. Thank you.
Is this offered as a part of Zoho One?
Hi Steve. It's not currently offered as part of Zoho One. But if you're a Zoho One user, you get a 30% discount on all ZeptoMail purchases made till 31 October 2021. Check it out here.
Love your commitment on always thinking ahead of time and bringing it in to reality.
Thank you, Sharath.
That's great.
Nothing against LGBTQ but the previous name definitely sounded like it was a direct reference to trans people. I'm guessing whoever approved that previous name was hopefully already fired? Haha.
Don't kid yourself David, hoping someone got fired and losing their livelihood, simply because of a name that "sounded" like a direct reference to trans people. You're sick. You clearly have something against LGBTQ.
Hi David. Our intention was always to highlight the main purpose of our service—sending Transaction eMails. Now, we hope ZeptoMail does a better job at putting our product into focus for our users. :)
AS SECONDS GO BY , THERES CHANGE HAPENNING INTO EVERY POSSIBLE THINGS. SO WHY NOT YOU ? GREAT , GO AHEAD . CAN I USE ZOHO MAIL OR ZEPTO MAIL FOR PERSONAL USE ?
Hi Raman. If you're simply looking to send personal or business emails then you can use Zoho Mail. If you wish to send automated transactional emails like OTP emails, password reset emails from your applications, ZeptoMail is the product you need. Hope this helps.
How do I cancel my company's Zoho services? I don't care about the name change. However, by you simply approving David's veiled homophobic remarks for the world to see, shows the true colors of this company. Hoping someone got fired and losing their livelihood, simply because of a name that “sounded” like a direct reference to trans people. Is clearly an attack on trans people and the LGBTQ community.
Geez, what a dumpster fire of a comment thread. Tom, can you please chill out and stop harassing a corporate professional who is just trying to do their job? As stated by Nikkitha, the name had nothing to do with transgender people. Nowhere in her comment was Zoho "approving veiled homophobic remarks". Any sane human being who isn't going out of their way to try to manufacture outrage can see that. Close your computer screen and take a walk outside. Please. I think you need it. Put yourself in Nikkitha's shoes, Tom. How would you respond in an appropriate way when some clown waltzes in and starts demanding people are fired over having the word "trans" be part of the name of a product that is about transaction mail? Pretty sure you'd have a difficult time writing a response to such a comment as well. And to David: Uhhhhh, sir, this is a Wendy's. Why are you making a discussion about a corporate mail application be about LGBTQ+ people? Go crawl back into whatever hole you came out of. We're here, we're queer, and if the person who named the app had meant to reference trans people (they didn't), it would have been cool, not something to fire someone over. ???? ???? ????
