The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers accredits Zoho Books

Zoho Books - ICB Accreditation

Attention accountants and bookkeepers around the world! We just got accredited by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. Alexandra Smith of Bookkeeping Leeds Ltd., who is a member of ICB and also an independent evaluator, gave Zoho Books a thumping review and rated it as a heavyweight solution, packed with features yet beautifully designed.

Impressed with Zoho Books, Alexandra says, “Loved Zoho Books so much I am going to swap my own accounts from my beloved Xero into Zoho as soon as possible!”

Decoding the accreditation process

While evaluating Zoho Books, Alexandra went through the same journey that our customers do. She gave the software a spin, went through the nuts and bolts of it, and came up with her independent assessment.

The basic criteria for evaluation were ease of use, core features, look and feel, user experience, intuitiveness, automation, and compliance.

We have the full review here, or you can check out some of the excerpts from the evaluation here:

Setup: “Opening balances are easy to set up in Zoho Books. New accounts can be created on the go and the system automatically creates opening balance adjustments.”

Bank Feeds: “Zoho Books fetches bank feeds without a fuss. The interface is really clear and laid out well making a lot of transactions visible at any time.”

Invoicing: “Invoice templates are easy to customize in Zoho Books. Changing fonts, adding extra fields and T&C’s is easy.”

Payments: “Receiving payments is straightforward with Zoho Books. Accepting online payments, cash, part, and full payments are effortless.”

Banking: “I have never found transaction rules to work in Xero as it is slightly complicated, but this is super easy in Zoho Books.”

Receipt Scanning: “Zoho’s auto-scan feature scans purchase invoices/receipts and categorises them. It’s a useful component rather than paying for a third party scanning app like Receipt Bank.”

Journal Entries: “Posting journals are really easy and user-friendly in Zoho Books. It is easy to locate and lets you journal to bank accounts unlike in QuickBooks and Xero respectively.”

Customer Statements: “Zoho generates statements for suppliers and customers, and lets you print, email or share it straight away unlike some accounting solutions.”

Reporting: “All reports in Zoho Books are customisable. They can be pulled using reporting tags to focus on data and can be exported in PDF and Excel format.”

Additionally, Zoho Books comes with an advisor program for accountants and bookkeepers. Signing up for the program gives you access to MTD-compatible Zoho Books, a listing in the advisor directory, and a commission for every client you onboard.
