2010 has been a
year of integrations for Zoho CRM.
It has been a successful year with lots of internal and external
integrations. Before we
bid farewell to 2010
, we are rolling out a few
more UI improvements in Zoho CRM.
Here they are:
Earlier, we were supporting 17 types of custom fields, like Text, Decimal, Formula, Lookup, Pick List, etc.
Now, we have added the
Long Integer
type custom field that can support up to 18 digits
.
This field will help you to record numbers that exceed
9 digits. For example, Bank Account numbers
, Support Ticket numbers etc.
We have also added a one-click option to
close
the tasks
from the List Views.
This option will save you a few clicks while closing tasks.
Another addition is the
product description
field for the line items. This will help you include a small description of
the products associated to Quotes, Invoices, Sales Orders and Purchase
Orders.
The next new feature lets you transfer
‘
Lead Created Time
‘ details in Accounts, Contacts and Potentials upon lead conversion.
This will help you keep track of the time
the lead was generated and the time taken to close the deal
.
Lastly, there is now an option that lets you
choose the
Section
while creating a field.
This too, will save you time as you won’t need to visit the Edit Page
Layout feature to add the new custom field in the appropriate section.

I love the new improvements except the 'Close' Tasks... that is seriously annoying... I used to click 'close' and be taken to the 'edit task' page where I could add a note and also a few manual fields...This feature is creating extra steps for me and it is not welcome...Do you ever ask your customers what they want...? Many changes appear out of the blue, and few of our requested changes ever happen.Happy with the changes but not all of them... can we revert?

Thank you for the feedback.For the existing users, the Product Description enhancement will come into effect, only if you initially save the 'Edit Page Layout' for Quotes.Click Setup > Quote Settings > Edit Page Layout, and then click 'Save'.Regards,

thank you for the update, almost all of our customer` demanded for them.If you can also improve the discount calculation option for quotes & sales orders etc. it will so nice too...our customers needed to display discount ratios per products on Quotes. And automatic discount calculation is very important tool; when you update the quote price of product, discount (percentage) and taxes have not been updated. That were enable us to make mistakes...

Well, the product description field is a small step in the right direction. We really need more flexibility in the Product Details section so that we can use data from the Products module.
Like being able to bring along the "Description" field associated with each product name.

It doesn't look like the product description is working in quotes. It is for Sales Orders, not sure about others.
I have been hoping for this feature!! Will it print out on the templates also?
