team. Your go-to invoicing software,
Zoho Invoice, and your new
favorite accounting software,
Zoho Books, now both include Time Tracking functionality.
With the addition of time tracking, we hope to help our users steer
clear off those project
billing bottlenecks and invoicing-time questions.
For starters, the time tracking interface in Zoho Invoice and Zoho Books is tremendously easy to use. You obviously don’t want your staff spending their precious billable hours making time sheet entries (thoughtful, isn’t it?). You can even let your contractors sign in and log their billable hours.
What would this feature let me do?
Create
projects, assign tasks to staff, set permission to staff members, staff
users can enter time-sheets and of course, bill for the
projects.
Will I be able to bill based on various criteria?
Absolutely, you can bill by the project’s rate, the hourly rate for staff or the hourly rate for tasks.

And not only a great time tracking tool but also a competitive invoicing software for billing clients. I know it's not free but it's worth the price. Using this would save you a lot of time, effort and also money. I also find this blog that is also a good time tracking tool that I personally use.

After creating a project estimate in Estimates it appears we need to then go ahead and setup the tasks all over again in a Project in order to track time.We are looking for a solution that allows us to track time against tasks that are defined in an Estimate, so that we can report on actual hours worked vs estimated for each project.Can this be supported with Zoho Invoice/time tracking?

I have a feature suggestion. As a legal professional, most of my time is spent in a computer environment (drafting letters, reading a document, reading case information on a web site).It would be ideal if this time can be automatically tracked. In other words, if I spend time reading a client's letter, the amount of active time I spend on the letter should be recorded. I have searched far and wide for software that can facilitate this, but I haven't found anything that actually makes it easier to keep track of time spent on various documents.

I agree with Wim, time tracking on the iPhone would be a great addition. I don't actually use the iPhone app because of this. I instead use TimeWerks to track time on jobs (electrician) and then send the invoices from the app to my email and then transfer that across into Zoho Invoice. It would save a lot of time to invoice straight from Zoho.

Maybe I have missed something, and I haven't spent more than 15 minutes looking at this, but how does this new feature integrate with Zoho Project? The export feature.My developer would like to be able to export all is time for a project X to be able to bill his time to me.For now he we use your time tracking he as to add his time for me here and then add his time in an Excel file for him.So for now we will keep using Excel because this way my developer add all his time in it and at the end he just send to me his excel file and I bill my client.Let me know when we can export in csv the time tracking by project and by staff.Eric

Very nice! What i was waiting for! Please put the open projects on the dashboard, so we can see projects that have to be done or be invoiced. Also don't forget the VAT, would be great if this could be mentioned at the task hour rate. Thanks!

Looks great, I hope that this feature has some kind of ical-compatible feature addition coming at some point. If it can't be tied into my calendar/google calendar I'm not going to be able to use this new feature.
