Wouldn't it be nice when
information finds you instead of you finding the information? This
feature I use falls under this category.
I
am an avid iPhone user and I extensively use Zoho Projects. On the go,
I often like to see my project related events on my iPhone Calendar.
Luckily, Zoho Projects exposes your calendar events as an ICS file and
iPhone can read ICS files, keeping your calendars up-to-date. Let us
see how to configure this.
Go to Zoho Projects
and select your portal (if you have many). You'll notice a 'My Work
Calendar' tab that displays all your calendar events across all
projects within that portal. If you scroll down all the way to the
bottom, you'll find two links that allows you to subscribe to Projects
Calendar. The bottom link is to subscribe to Google Calendar while the
top one is a generic ICS file. Copy the link on the top. We will need
to paste this link on the iPhone. But because we can't do this
directly, you can try emailing this link it to yourself so that you can
access it on your iPhone.
Now, on your iPhone, access your email and copy the link you sent to yourself and follow these steps.
Open Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and choose Add Account
In the choices you are presented, choose 'Other'
In
the next screen, choose 'Add Subscribed Calendar' and you now have an
option to paste the URL for the ICS file. Paste the URL you copied
previously and go to the Next step.
Here
you have an option to change the Description of your calendar. You can
call it 'Zoho Projects Calendar' for simplicity and Save it.
You should be all set now. Now open the Calendar app on your iPhone and you have an option to view 'All Calendars' or you can just view Zoho Projects Calendar alone. iPhone reads the calendar from Zoho Projects every time you open the
Calendar application. This means, you always have updated information
on your phone.
Please note that you cannot add events to your Zoho Projects Calendar on your iPhone. Only events created in Projects Calendar
will show up on your iPhone. As iPhone doesn't have any limit to the
number of calendars you can subscribe to, you can follow this procedure
to add multiple calendars if you have projects across multiple portals.
Hope you'll find this useful.
Zoho Projects Calendar looks good, I will try it on my iPhone. Earlier I've used HyperOffice which lets you synch mail, calendars, contacts and tasks with your iPhone. Thanks for putting up such an helpful calender app for iPhone. Allison from iPhone Development company.

The calendar syncs but only meetings are shown i.e. my tasks and milestones are not appearing?

Would be so great if project milestones, tasks and meetings were seamlessly integrated into the Zoho business calendar and tasks; allowing for multiple project portals. Then to really take it to the next level, rather than just publishing ical from projects, you could publish CALDAV from core zoho business. Now that would be awesome.

This is definitely the most useful article that I have read in the last month I think. First of all I enjoy reading detailed tutorials with pictures because it is easy to repeat it then. I have bought my iPhone few months ago and I can't even express how I am happy with it. So many functions, so many apps, it is just amazing. Moreover I love Zoho projects but somehow I didn't know about the ability to see my zoho projects in the iPhone calendar. Moreover I didn't notice that iPhone can read ICS files. Thanks one more time for publishing this definitely useful information here and keep writing nice posts in the future too.
