Gmail has just announced a new feature in their labs. According to the Official Gmail Blog,
Turn on Undo Send in Gmail Labs
under Settings, and you’ll see a new “Undo” link on every sent mail
confirmation. Click “Undo,” and we’ll grab the message before it’s sent
and take you right back to compose.
This feature can’t pull back an email that’s already gone; it just
holds your message for five seconds so you have a chance to hit the
panic button.
TechCrunch reported this new Gmail feature and many of the commenters there seem to find the new feature limiting. Like Chris who says,
Why not have it so I can set a delay between when I hit send on a
message and when it actually sends? If you are an impulsive emailer,
you could add in a 30 second or 1 minute delay or even a 24 hour delay
if you are so inclined…
For such impulsive mailers, Zoho Mail has had this feature for quite sometime now. Setting this option is quite simple. Login to your Zoho Mail account, click on Settings, enable the Outbox option, set your Send email after preferred value and click on the Save button to save your new settings.
Once the above configuration is done, all mails that you send sit in the Outbox folder for the time you have set.
You can click on the mail to edit it and resend again. Delete the mail if it is not needed or choose the Send Immediately option if you want to override the settings in your Outbox. Try the Outbox feature in Zoho Mail and let us know your feedback.

The delayed send feature is nice, but some clients want to be able to SCHEDULE individual sends - I.E. an email typed in the morning before a meeting needs to reach the recipient later in the day, or the next day. Scheduling would be a nice feature in the dropdown...Send, Send Immediately, Schedule.

Sridhar,I think we should not have a "queue" button. (Everyone is tuned to Hit Send after writing in email.)
Instead we can provide a "Send Immediately" option under "Send"
Also the first time a user signs in to zoho and sends an email we can show them a popup telling them about the OutBox feature.Regards

Perhaps we can add a Queue button in addition to the Send button ... Queue will put in in Outbox for 3 minutes automatically, even for those who haven't set up the Outbox.

Adil : Thanks for your suggestion. That option may make it two or three clicks to send every email.Say you choose 1 or 2 minutes as your Outbox setting. This time gap is fine for most mails you send, as email responses are asynchronous & you usually chat or call up if an immediate response is needed. Even if an email is to be sent so urgently, you can goto the Outbox and choose the 'Send Immediately' option.

Hmm i was just wondering if zoho can add a new feature, and that is, when someone press send button, it should pop up with option to send right now or send it outbox and send it after some time later instead of going into that setting thing and making mail to first go in outbox and after that time (specified in setting) it finally go to its destination, in this way we will be able to set time for each mail instead of setting a single time for all the mails.
