We've now crossed the six-month mark since the launch of ZeptoMail. And today, we're back to announce our biggest update since the launch. It is something that most of our users have been eagerly looking forward to.
Introducing Email Templates in ZeptoMail!
Transactional emails are the most important type of email for any business. While ZeptoMail takes care of delivering these emails to your users on time, there's a lot that goes into actually creating a good transactional email template:
- Writing good email content
- Creating the right design for the email
- Converting the design into usable code
- Testing the email to make sure everything looks good
- Ensuring that the template is easily editable for future changes
Now, with ZeptoMail's Email Templates, we take care of all these cumbersome tasks for you. It saves you time and resources that can be directed towards building and growing your business.
If you use ZeptoMail for your transactional email sending, here's how our email templates can work for you.
Choose a template
To get started with our templates, navigate to any of your Mail Agents and click on the Templates tab. You can view all the pre-built templates we have created for you by clicking on Create Template.
You can choose from multiple sample templates available or even create your own from scratch using the blank template.
Customize the template
While we provide the basic templates for common emails like password reset, welcome email etc, one size doesn't fit all. Which is why, we give you the tools to edit the pre-built templates right inside ZeptoMail.
You can use the text or HTML editor to customize the template to suit your needs. You can also add attachments to the template by uploading files or choosing an existing file from File Cache.
Testing the template
Now that you have your template ready, you need to make sure that it will work perfectly for your users. Once you're done creating the template, you can send a test email to the email address of your choice to see how it looks.
While variables help you customize the email for your users, having multiple placeholders and variables in a test email doesn't help. Which is why, while sending a test email, you can assign values to these variables to view the complete email while testing.
Using the templates
With your template creation and testing done, you can go ahead and start using the template to send emails by simply using the Template ID. No matter how many templates you create, you can manage all of them easily in the Templates tab inside your Mail Agents.
You can take a look at our help documentation for detailed instructions
ZeptoMail now comes with pre-built templates for some of the most common transactional emails. We'll keep adding more to the list but in the meanwhile, let us know the email templates you would like us to add.
Give our email templates a try and leave your feedback and questions in the comments section. Keep watching this space or follow us on Twitter for regular updates. You can also join our community forum to have discussions with fellow users, share your feedback on ZeptoMail, and reach out to experts for immediate help.
Until next time, stay safe and stay happy!
Can I use templates when I using SMTP to send the messages?
This is good. Finally. We will now consider discontinuing Sendgrid in favor of ZeptoMail.
That's wonderful to hear, Mykola. We'd love to help with the transition in any way possible.
Great, soon i will give it a shot
Love the update, but one thing that is preventing our migration to ZeptoMail is that I haven't found a way to use the API to retrieve the full HTML content of the email that was sent. In an ideal world I'd send an email using the template API and then be able to retrieve that content after it is sent so that I can automatically add notes to CRM, do some temporary or long term logging, etc.
Hi Anthony. Glad you like our update. As for the features you're looking for, we are working on it. As you've mentioned, once email sent using ZeptoMail, users will be able to retrieve the content and see the email in CRM. We'll keep you in the loop on the progress.
Wow! I just discovered Zeptomail. I swear I didn't know about this. Rs. 150 for 10000 is more than what we could ask for.
Our pocket-friendly pricing is just the start. We hope you give ZeptoMail a try for your business and explore all our other features, Gaurav. :)
Sure Nikkitha. :)
Thankyou Zoho. Thanks Alot !!!.. was really looking foward to this
Glad you like the update, Lokesh. Hope you enjoy using the feature too. :)
Yes i did enjoy the feature , i have been struggling to integrate dynamic transactional email service forever using sendgrid , mailgun , etc. Finally succeeded with Zoho Although i think there is one thing missing that can really help alot of users. Your subjects in email templates are static, if i can keep the subject content dynamic too it will be great.
If by subject, you mean the subject that goes with the template, it is currently dynamic, Lokesh. While creating your new template, you can enter the subject. You can even include placeholders/merge tags in the subject so you can make them specific to each recipient. Hope this helps.
