Integrating the powerful reporting & analytics functionality of Zoho Analytics into Zoho Creator has been one of the most requested feature. We have heard it and enabled the first step towards this goal.
In Zoho Analytics, we have introduced the feature of scheduled periodic import of CSV files from any accessible Web URL. With this feature you could set up Zoho Analytics to periodically fetch data in CSV format from any accessible Web URL. This would be really useful in scenarios where you have new data being published or updated periodically and you would like get those updates inside Zoho Analytics for reporting and analysis. Till now you had to re-import this data manually into Zoho Analytics, every time an update is available. Now you just have to setup up the periodic import feature and Zoho Analytics would do the rest for you.
With this feature you could also (enable Zoho Analytics to) periodically fetch data from your Zoho Creator Application into Zoho Analytics as changes happen to the same. As the latest data is made available inside Zoho Analytics, you could create any type of powerful reports with it. The reports created using Zoho Analytics could also be embedded back inside your Zoho Creator application using the new HTML Page view feature introduced in Zoho Creator 3.0
The following presentation demonstrates how you could periodically import data from Zoho Creator into Zoho Analytics:
Do give the above feature a try and let us know your feedback. This is just the first step in making available the powerful reporting functionality of Zoho Analytics to Zoho Creator users. We are continuing our work on this problem to further simplify the process. A much closer GUI level integration of making report creation features of Zoho Analytics available within Zoho Creator is in development. We will keep you posted once we are ready with it…
Happy Reporting and Keep tab on further development…
This doesn't seem to work anymore...
Did you ever find a good solution for this? All I want to do is use Zoho Forms to add data to a Zoho Sheet or Zoho Database which I can then use to generate a Zoho Report(s). What am I missing? This seems like it is much harder than it should be... Thanks for any info.
Simon, Derek: The scheduled import from Zoho Creator to Zoho Analytics works fine, as explained in the slide show. I'm giving the steps here once again. 1. Get the permalink from Zoho Creator, from Links -> Permalink 2. In Zoho Analytics, give the URL in Import from Files/Feeds' option 3. Choose 'HTML Content' as 'File Type' and 'Web' as 'Data Location' option 4. In the next screen, choose the correct HTML table which contains the Creator form data (typically, it is the last table, Table 10) 5. Zoho Analytics auto identifies the columns and the data types to be imported 6. Click 'Create' and the table gets created in Zoho Analytics, with the imported data from Zoho Creator 7. You can also use the 'Schedule This Import' option to get the data imported periodically Refer to the below page to know about more ways to integrate Zoho Creator with Zoho Analytics:https://www.zoho.com/analytics/reporting-on-zoho-creator-applications.html Let me know if this helped, and if you are still facing issues. ps: We are also working on an in-built integration with Creator, as another option. Will post about it once it is available.
Was there any further development in linking Zoho DB to Zoho Creator?

Before we go into using zoho fulltime I would like to know how stable the company is? Can anyone give me a heads up on your experience and if you know any financial information about Zoho? Thanks,John

Just for information, if you're getting a random bit of HTML in your Report when you try to import from Creator, it's because you need to click the option for a URL "without login" on the Creator export screen. It's at the top of the window.

Is the CSV import only way to connect to report? Is it possible to use API and enter data into report/table via the zoho creator form.I am trying to learn. So please bear with me if i am asking the obvious.

I already had an import set from the csv feed but I forgot to set the schedule. How do I edit my table to set the schedule?

This is exciting. This has been one of my main wishes when I first saw Zoho DB and Reports.I only hope that the integration would be user-friendly / easy to learn for non-IT person like me.Keep up the good work!

Zoho Sheet already has integrated Zoho DB's reporting capabilities. Zoho Sheet's Pivot tables and Pivot charts functionality, launched in April, actually integrates Zoho DB's reporting capabilities. You can easily create pivot tables and charts from your existing data in Zoho Sheet. Let us know what kind of integration you are looking at.

How about integrating DB & Reports with Zoho Sheet? I mean Sheet is like a DB so what I really want is the power of the Reports using a Sheet as my source. It seems to me the DB part of DB & Reports is having the hardest time gaining traction - how do you get the data into the DB? Of course there's the API but within Zoho itself it's not used (common beef of mine: companies that don't integrate their own products). It would be cool if Sheet had way to use Reports from DB & Reports; and if Creator an option to "store data in DB" (not sure how this would affect Marketplace apps, but you guys are smart, you'll figure it out).

Clarence,I would appreciate any news or updates you can give me on the progress of the integration around that time. I will be doing a presentation to our company in early December and this will help make the case for us to adopt for larger corporate opportunities as well as the small/medium business that I know creator was designed for.my registered username is TPN_DEV so feel free to drop me a mail at my registered address or my zoho mail tpn_dev (at) zoho dot comThanks

Hi Earl,That's a very good idea. We do not have any immediate road map of releasing any ERP application, although that cannot be ruled out for the future.Do let us know if you need any assistance in your development. Thanks,
Clarence

Hi Clarence,Here's what also on my wish list. To develop small business ERP functionality utlizing Zoho DB & Reports. Is this something that Zoho is contemplating?

Great feature Zoho. I remember seeing this feature available with Zoho Sheet and Zoho DB some time ago, but it's a great idea moving forward to make this avalable through Creator as well as from an accessible Web URL. Since I'm looking to develop Business Intelligence Financial Dashboards utilizing Zoho DB, this is very exciting news. Keep up the good work Zoho!

This is an important step forward to closer integration.Just to be able to show this working to some interested parties in the short term is gonna drive interest for me.Not trying to nail you down to a time of day but ballpark estimate for full integration? Q4 2008/Q1 2009???Nice one Zoho.Mark

Right now, user has to go through the CSV feed steps. We are working on automating the whole chain, and integrating it. That should be available in a future update.Charting engine: they use the same engine, but not the same version. They will be syncing up in due course.

How would this work for Creator Apps that are published in the Market Place and installed by other users? Would they be responsible for creating their own CSV feeds and building their own DB & Reports? Would they have to modify the code in the applications HTML Views to point to their own DB & Reports analysis? And do Creator, DB & Reports, and Sheets use the same charting engine?
